Jeff Soto

Jeff Soto does art that makes him look like an emo kid. I don't know him personally, but I'm fairly sure that he isn't.
His art looks a bit dark and twisted, although in all his pieces, he contrasts his colors amazingly.
I find that the way he throws bright, gaudy colors into the grays and blacks of his painting make them more interesting to look at.

Sting

Sorry, I'm doing a lot of posts on solo artists, but hey, I like them.

Sting is Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner's stage name, and it is awesome. I've been brought up listening to Sting, and I swear that I know all the words to every song of his. I only recently found out that he was in the Sci-fi movie, Dune, which may I say, is now my favorite move aside from Titanic. He was also in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Is that the name of the movie? I think so. Anyway, he seems to be good at playing the mean person, and he is very talented.
So yeah...

Norah Jones

Just before I start ranting about how much I love this and that, I'm going to say that I know how blunt the headings for my posts are. It's because I'm not that clever and witty, so I just think it's safer for me to stick with telling people exactly what my post is about.

Now to the ranting.

Mum introduced me to Norah Jones and my favourite song has always been 'Seven Years', from the album, Çome AwayWith Me''. She hast a really amazing voice, and she's incredibly pretty, and to tell you the truth, I'm almost jealous.. =] She majored in jazz piano, but she also plays soul, blues and folk-based pop, which are all kind of connected, and all genres that I like, thankfully. She is of anglo-american and bangali indian descent, which explains the dark hair and eyes. She writes all her own music, and even though everyone thinks that she changed her name, she only took off the first bit. She was born as Geethali Norah Jones Shankar. Awesome name if you ask me, but a bit of a mouthful.

Still, I love her work, and she is really impressive.

Kling By Kling

A fashion label created by a London based designer, Karolina Kling.
The brand was established in 2006, and has since claimed international attention for its quirky, unusual designs. Me? I like it. I know, I wouldn't wear it, but I'm a slave to black and white, and she's a genius in designing web pages. Still, it's pretty awesome, and she has some fairly strange ideas that I really like. Her latest collection is called sparKLING night, and I believe it to be my favorite of them all.

Alanis Morissette

I know, sad for me, but I love this woman.
Alanis Nadine Morissette, Canadian born singer, songwriter, record producer and actress. It amazes me that anyone could do all that when I can only do a few things. It also gives me hope that one day I can be something awesome. 12 Juno awards and seven Grammy awards and over 55 million albums sold worldwide...
She's my inspiration, and her songs are really easy to sing along to as well... I know, Dorky much?
I just watched Sydney White with and it brought out my inner dorkiness. She reminds me a bit of uuum, not Rachel Bilson... erm, Jennifer Aniston... That's it.

Flight of the Conchords

Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, aka, the greatest.
I'm sad and I watch these guys in 'Flight of the Conchords' and they never fail to crack me up. Mind you, they're not doing anything for the Kiwi population...
Their series revolves around two New Zealand musicians who have uprooted themselves from their home in new Zealand and gone to make it big as a novelty folk duo in New York. It goes through a series of happiness and sadness, and overall, funniness. For more of Jemaine, watch Eagle Vs Shark...

Threadless T-Shirts

Baha, these are so cool. Threadless make the coolest T-Shirts in the world. The ones that I like are really detailed, and look a bit Chinese, but they have to many, and they are so great. They're all designed by different people and they all have their own special things about them. They're all so carefully done and I think that if I could do any of the kind of art work that they do on those shirts, I'd be having a party for myself, as stuck up as that sounds.
