I've been brought up listening to Sting, and I swear that I know all the words to every song of his. I only recently found out that he was in the Sci-fi movie, Dune, which may I say, is now my favorite move aside from Titanic. He was also in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Is that the name of the movie? I think so. Anyway, he seems to be good at playing the mean person, and he is very talented.
So yeah...

Norah Jones

Just before I start ranting about how much I love this and that, I'm going to say that I know how blunt the headings for my posts are. It's because I'm not that clever and witty, so I just think it's safer for me to stick with telling people exactly what my post is about.

Now to the ranting.

Mum introduced me to Norah Jones and my favourite song has always been 'Seven Years', from the album, Çome AwayWith Me''. She hast a really amazing voice, and she's incredibly pretty, and to tell you the truth, I'm almost jealous.. =] She majored in jazz piano, but she also plays soul, blues and folk-based pop, which are all kind of connected, and all genres that I like, thankfully. She is of anglo-american and bangali indian descent, which explains the dark hair and eyes. She writes all her own music, and even though everyone thinks that she changed her name, she only took off the first bit. She was born as Geethali Norah Jones Shankar. Awesome name if you ask me, but a bit of a mouthful.

Still, I love her work, and she is really impressive.

Kling By Kling

A fashion label created by a London based designer, Karolina Kling.
The brand was established in 2006, and has since claimed international attention for its quirky, unusual designs. Me? I like it. I know, I wouldn't wear it, but I'm a slave to black and white, and she's a genius in designing web pages. The ones that I like are really detailed, and look a bit Chinese, but they have to many, and they are so great. They're all designed by different people and they all have their own special things about them. They're all so carefully done and I think that if I could do any of the kind of art work that they do on those shirts, I'd be having a party for myself, as stuck up as that sounds.

Slinkachu

I found this in a magazine also. Slinkachu, an artist in London, has made 2.5 centimeter high figurines and placed them around London all of them doing different things. I saw the pictures and they made me laugh. It's mostly just day to day activities made smaller, but there was one particular one that was a tine person standing on a dock and being eaten by a tiny octopus. It reminded me of Pirates of the Caribbean. His latest piece, Inner City Snail, is pure genius. Using non-toxic paints, he graffs their shells and introduces them into the little peoples world. I would post a picture but the server is having an unhappy moment, so now you;ve just got to use those wonderful imaginations that I know you have...
=]

Dear God

I'm not usually into this kind of stuff, but I saw it in a magazine, and I went to the Dear God website and happened to open it on a entry called
'You had your chance already, you cannot change your mind now.'
It's written by a guy about his twin brother, and it made me feel so sad. A long time ago, on a blog far far away, I was thinking of a subject to post on, and a friend told me about Deth P. Sun. I think she knew I;d like him because I love cats so much. But seriously, he's awesome. I love the way his art is quite simple and yet so inspiring. OK, so I;m probably about the only one I know who would say it was inspiring, but it really is. And I have to explain that the sizes are quite normal, and actually that isn't what I'm talking about. Supra is like the awesomerer alternative to Nike. I mean seriously, everyone loves Nike, but Supra could be way better if people actually knew. I guess Nike has the advantage of age. The picture is of Red Suprano Highs. Mum wanted a bag that she could carry everywhere, so she got one of these. I've always fancied that the bags look like little people themselves. The little silver pendant (above) is for their tenth anniversary of bag making. Personally, I like them, but not everyone will. They're certainly very strong and carry a lot of stuff, as I found when I cleaned out mums.
One of the quirky things about them is that fact that in their advertisements, someone has written something for each of them. What the bag says, if you will. For the red beanbag said person wrote this:

I been bagged so much I feel like a bean chucked out the window by Jack’s Mum. I mean, I have nothing against the actual wiccans. The people that really believe it all and have it as their chosen religion. I admire those people in a way. No, what really irritates me is the superficial Wiccans that like selling foolish little bits and pieces that are giving a bad name to the Wiccan society. I was just looking on a website and it was 'Uncle Festers' and it was for irresistible wiccan gifts...
Perhaps I should give 'Sulfur the Phone Freak' to my beloved mother as a birthday present. We can all agree that that title is a bit strange, just like the titles of many other books. My question is, if you wrote a book, what would it be about, and what would you call it. I know, this is a bit weird, but my purpose is... Well,
I kind of don't have a purpose here.

So, if I write a book, which I am, it would be about a world in a bucket. and the world wouldn't actually just be one world. There would be a world for everything in the bucket. Kind of like Alice In Wonderland, except this would be called...

The Fantasmagorical Bucket World

So give me something to work with here.
What would you call your novel?

Shuzzzzzzz

Finally, some nice hand painted shoes. I know they're not like works of total genius, but you've gotta admit they're nice. Personally I like the first attempt (Above. awesome much?). Yuki, the girl who painted them, is original, if not in the idea of painting shoes, but in the idea of what she paints. At least they don't have weird World of Warcraft figures painted on them like some I found. =]
